Born in Biên Hòa, Vietnam, Peter Do immigrated to the United States at age 14 and studied Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. After winning the inaugural 2014 LVMH Graduate Prize, he refined his technical foundation at Celine under Phoebe Philo, followed by Derek Lam.
Peter launched his namesake label PETER DO in 2018, introducing a design language defined by architectural tailoring, modular construction, and a commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. Since then, he has received widespread industry recognition, including being a two-time LVMH Prize winner, a CFDA Designer of the Year nominee, and a finalist for both the Woolmark and ANDAM prizes.
In 2023, he was appointed Creative Director of Helmut Lang, debuting his first collection at New York Fashion Week, followed by PETER DO Spring/Summer 2024 at Paris Fashion Week, cementing the brand’s international reach. Do later stepped away from Helmut Lang to focus fully on building an independent, purpose-driven vision under his own name.
In 2024, he curated A Magazine Curated By, further exploring his narrative through editorial storytelling. The brand also continued to expand its cultural footprint through acclaimed collaborations with Opening Ceremony, Banana Republic, SM Entertainment, ECCO Leather, and Barton Perreira, merging fashion, music, and material innovation.
Most recently, in 2025, Do introduced PETER DO CLUB, an intimate, password-protected platform offering made-to-order and limited-production pieces, prioritizing local New York City and Made in Japan production, sustainability, and a lasting connection between designer and wearer.
Do continues to lead a new generation of designers, rejecting convention in favor of purpose, community, and discipline, redefining what it means to build a fashion house today.
